MIAMI MUNCHIE STOP🌴🔥
Fresh From the Market — Seafood Empanadas
Back in Miami, and this time I’m taking the munchie mission straight into a Dominican neighborhood where the food is local, authentic, and doesn’t need a whole lot of explaining.
I pulled up to PLAZA SEAFOOD (3114 NW 17th Ave, Miami, FL 33142 ); one of those spots I absolutely love — a fresh fish market with a standing outdoor kitchen right beside it. You know the type of place where the seafood is right there in front of you, and what hits your plate starts with what came through the market that day. That freshness is what caught my attention.
One of my favorite go-to orders when I come back into town is the seafood empanadas — either fish or shrimp — served with a side of red beans and rice. These aren't fancy, overworked empanadas. They're simple, fresh, crispy, and made to order using seafood from the market right next door.
There's something special about eating food that doesn't need to hide behind a bunch of ingredients. Fresh seafood, a properly seasoned filling, a crispy shell, red beans and rice — that's it. Give me a squeeze of fresh lime, hit it with some hot sauce, and I'm good to go.
This is the kind of Miami food experience I’m always looking for — local, authentic, affordable, and connected to the neighborhood. No white tablecloths. No unnecessary presentation. Just fresh seafood coming out of the market and straight into the kitchen.

Sometimes the best food isn't the most complicated.
Sometimes it's fresh seafood, a hot empanada, red beans and rice, lime, hot sauce, and a Miami neighborhood doing what it does best.
That's Miami. That's flavor. That's a 10 Puff experience.
Stay high. Stay hungry. 🌴✌🏾💨
